A collaboration between Veteran’s Homestead, Inc. and Mount Wachusetts Community College to provide a healthy environment for veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. The LEED Gold project includes a Therapy Building with a pool, massage, physical therapy and meeting rooms, as well as 10 duplexes for veterans & their families. 28 geothermal wells provide heat & hot water, and 8,364 square feet of PV panels provide electricity.

The meetinghouse of the Universalist Unitarian Society of Amherst, dating from 1893, is well loved and well located but undersized, energy inefficient, and partially inaccessible to disabled people. This study was conducted to investigate the feasibility and relative cost of three options for renovation and construction to address these and other concerns.
