Heather Sheldon has been a project designer with KRA since 2019, and shares the firm’s dedication to client service. Previously she worked for architecture firms in Cambridge, MA and Ithaca, NY. Heather graduated with architecture degrees from Washington University in St. Louis in 2000 with honors, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2004, having worked in the Boston area for three years in between. She has been a USGBC Leadership in Energy and Environmental (LEED) accredited professional since 2006.

Heather was drawn to the built environment design from an early age. She credits this interest, in part, to her keen sensory perception—her awareness of how light, temperature, and sound affect her well-being. This consciousness deeply influences how Heather practices her craft.

Currently, Heather works part time with KRA as her children become ever more independent. She has served on community boards for the Fort River Elementary School Site and Building Analysis Committee and the Amherst Regional Special Education Parent Advisory Council as co-president; she plays for the national-champion Team Boston grand master’s women’s ultimate frisbee team.  She appreciates that KRA is a firm that values professionals who are also caregivers and active contributors to civic life.
