PROJECT ARCHITECT/PROJECT MANAGER

KRA is an 18-person, design-driven, community-oriented, sustainability-focused, woman-owned firm located in the center of Amherst. Projects include educational from Pre-K to higher education; residential including high-end single-family as well as affordable and market-rate multi-family; commercial work from coffee shops to corporate offices; and community-based work with a variety of nonprofit organizations. We are seeking a collaborative team member with potential for growth within the firm: a design professional with experience managing projects at all phases of design development, bidding, contract negotiation, construction phase services through project completion.

Key skills and abilities: collaborative design process, technical competence, well-developed project management skills, project team relationship management, creative problem-solving, good communication, and client focused design excellence.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years (post-degree minimum) experience in Architecture
  • Architecture license for Project Architect
  • Architecture degree for Project Manager
  • 3 to 5+ years managing small to medium projects ($1M to $20M)
  • LEED or other sustainable building accreditation strongly desired
  • Revit experience required, Enscape rendering ability desired
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Background in education, commercial, and residential design and construction

PROJECT DESIGNER

Projects include educational from Pre-K to higher education; residential including high-end single-family as well as affordable and market-rate multi-family; commercial work from coffee shops to corporate offices; and community-based work with a variety of nonprofit organizations.

We are seeking a collaborative team member with potential for growth within the firm: a professional to provide architectural support to Project Architects, Project Managers and Interior Designers in the design, selection, coordination, and detailing of architectural projects. Designer will create 3-D Revit models for construction documentation, perform redline changes and revisions, design schematics, assist with contract administration, organize and maintain project files, research building products, and work collaboratively with other professionals to complete projects.

Key skills and abilities: collaborative design process, technical competence, excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

  • 1 to 5 years (post-degree) experience in Interior Design or Architecture
  • LEED or other sustainable building accreditation strongly desired
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Some Revit, Enscape, and Photoshop experience desired
  • Self-motivated, desire to learn and grow within firm

INTERIOR DESIGNER

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years (post-degree) experience in Interior Design
  • Interior Design Certification (NCIDQ) strongly desired
  • LEED or other sustainable building accreditation strongly desired
  • 3 to 5+ years managing projects between $1M and $20M
  • Ability to manage projects in a cost-effective manner
  • Commitment to high-quality design
  • Strong design skills through graphic and free-hand sketching ability
  • Revit experience required, Enscape rendering ability desired
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
