55 South Pleasant Street

Redevelopment project in downtown Amherst, MA. The proposed mixed-use design is centered around the historic Hastings building. The former Hastings space is now the Amherst College store.

A five-story residential building will be tucked behind the Hastings building with a new covered arcade for pedestrians. Our design goal for this project was to celebrate the history of the Hastings building while adding to the architectural landscape of the bustling downtown.
