Karen, a graduate of UMass Amherst with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design, knew that she was destined to be a designer from a very young age when she found herself creating scaled floor plans and furniture so that she could “rearrange” rooms, a method she was convinced that she invented.

She has been steadfast in her passion for interior design and has enjoyed working in a variety of market sectors over the past 25 years. She began her early career as a kitchen and bath specialist earning certification through the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) and gained healthcare design and facility operation experience during her 12-year career at the VAMC in Leeds, MA. Karen traveled throughout the country to design college campus bookstores for a national retailer, consulted with architectural firms on K-12 as well as college education projects, and most recently dabbled in casino-related design for an international hospitality group.

To Karen, the process of design is all about the relationship with the client and fostering a collaborative process. She likes to immerse herself in our clients’ worlds in order to facilitate the most thoughtful and creative solutions.

Outside of her career she enjoys expressing her creativity through cooking, gardening, and art projects. Being a self-proclaimed “Foodie” she indulges her senses through culinary experimentation, treasures the therapeutic solitude of gardening, and reimagines discarded furniture and other items with her daughter.
