A mixed use renovation and addition to the historic Hastings Building in downtown Amherst.

The first floor of the existing building was renovated into the Amherst College store. Renovations to the upper floors and a major addition at the rear created 22 apartment units tucked behind the historic building. The unit mix ranges from 2-bedroom units to 4-bedroom units. The five-story addition is approximately 28,500 sqft.

The design of the new addition frames and highlights the existing historic structure.
